It is so much fun hearing you speak Korean. I attended Yonsei's 한국어학당 in 서울from 1970 - 1972 and then married a Korean woman who spoke no English. Korean is my only 2nd language. 여즘은 한국말 연습 하국 여자하고 많이 해요. I meet people mainly on Koreanfriendfinders and on Livemocha.com and Koreans are almost always flabberghasted to find an american who speaks Korean and they always treat me so well - it is a really great feeling. I generally write at leas one email in Korean each day and I love to watch the chat room when korean people get together and chat in 한글 . I can't read Korean as fast as it appears when it is in advertisements that stream across signs, but i keep practicing. Actually my future is quite questionable since i was dagnosed with a sever heart disease, but i am enjoying relearning and learning more and more each day for the fun of it...

One thing i often have difficulty with is remembering spanish words from the spanish words I studied in high school 40 years go... and often my kids will say to me something like "what is Algo in Spanish " and immediately my mind says " It is - I know ... " LOL but of course that's Korean. So i wonder how you separate the different languages in your head? and do you ever find yourself confusing them like i do with spanish and Korean?

Hi Matt, I found your video during my little search for videos talking about the common mistakes in English. Sure you didn't intend, but your video is absolutely hilarious and wonderfully educative. One example , "stand up and crapping!", is just simply killing me! It took me for a while to find my lost belly button... :-)

Yes, you are absolutely correct. Language is the culture, well at least a major part of it. Therefore, it is difficult for Korean people to translate Korean to English without mistakes. In this context, your video is a great education to the people like me.

I live in Gaithersburg, MD, about 20 miles north from the DC border line. It's been almost 14 years living in the States for a graduate degree and currently working for US government.

To find good materials for my little English teaching blog (http://fun-english.tistory.com/), I spend some time browsing YouTube everyday and your video will be a big hit for my blog readers (~ 400/day). Your video will be up for the readers in a couple of days if you don't mind.

Greatly appreciate your effort for the wonderful video and hope to see more soon. Sincerely wish you a very happy year-end vacation and the terrific New Year as well!!!

Signalhunt

Okay, so basically I really just wanted to tackle you after coming across this video on youtube, which of course led me here, and all for one simple reason.

I am 100% addicted and in love with the Korean culture and language, for about 4 months now, and have this burning desire to live in Korea. So coming across your video really inspired me because I now know I'm not the only person.

I appologize if that was a bit odd coming from a person you don't even know.

So I suppose what I really want to say is 감사합니다!! Good luck on getting to Korea! 화이팅!!
