As part of my summer vacation spree, I visited my brother over in Washington D.C. and drove up to New York. I stopped by the Koreatown (of course). It was pretty cool, I stopped by 고려서점 (I think that was the name) and bought a Korean manga comic book about Korean history. I had a fun time reading about that on the train ride back to Princeton, it’ll be a big help to read both to learn some interesting things about Korean history and see if I have the same comprehension level as a child (please!). Other than that there were the usual 노래방 and BBQ restaurants. If you stop by NY, definitely go to Korea town. It’s right by the New York Penn Station on 32th.

yea i read a plenty of those when i was in elementary school in korea
what’s the name of the series or the book? i might have read it, you never know
what’s it about specifically?
you should really check out a book Imjin War by Samuel Hawley.
It’s got rlly good stuff about the war, the background to the uneasy & competitive relationship b/w Japan & Korea, and Admiral Yi – a very important figure in Korean history. It’s way better than the pieces and bits of crap you find on Wikipedia etc.
One of the most exciting part is the description of a naval battle, in which just 13 Korean ships sunk 31 Japanese ships out of a fleet of 200+, without any loss.
@박준범
The series is called 먼나라 이웃나라. It just has some sections giving VERY basic Korean history (mostly modern).
Sounds like an interesting story~
