Ode to snacks: 요구르트

yogurt

This is my first post in a series where I’ll write about food as I think ‘man, this is sweet.  Everyone should try it!’  First up: 요구르트.  It’s cheap.  It’s sweet.  It’s addicting. I can’t even express in words how awesome 요구르트 is.  Even though it’s called yogurt, it’s a drink rather than it’s American-cousin.  They have a similar taste, but the make-up is very different.

Here a pack of 5 is about 79 cents, which is a little more expensive than I would like but it’s still alright.  Each one is small enough so that you could drink it in one shot if you wanted, but it’s too sweet for me to do that.  I’ve been having the regular flavor for years but I finally tried the Strawberry flavor today and I have to say, that one’s freaking good too.  If you haven’t tried it, go to your local Korean convenience store and get some.  Bored?  Buy a bunch and have a contest to see who can drink the most in the shortest time!

  1. have you tried korean ice cream also? like red-bean filled popsicle

those yogurts r pretty good, but i’m surprised to find that you’re addicted to it!

btw some of the korean snacks are copies of japanese snacks, although most koreans dont know it

for example pepero is copy of japanese pocky, korean shrimp cracker = japanese shrimp craker, chap-sal-theok icecream = cheaper version of mochi ice cream, which is godly, etc

actually that korean yogurt probably originated from a japanese type of yogurt as well

I have heard of that, but I’ve never tried it. I LOVE read bean paste, so I’m looking forward to it.
