2010 Spring Admission Decisions Released

It looks like SNU has announced the fact that the admission decisions have been made for new international students starting in Spring 2010!  You can’t imagine how excited I was to see that on the SNU home page.  I immediately followed the directions and headed over to http://ipsi.snu.ac.kr/ to see if my admission decision was there.  As a programmer and someone who knows how Korean websites work often, I was fairly amused with the fact that the site doesn’t work in Firefox.  Well, I got past that thanks to IE Tab (great for you Firefox users who frequent Korean sites) and procceded to check my acceptance.  After following the directions and entering my information, I got a popup that said that the data doesn’t exist.  Either I’m not in the system or whatever, but at least that doesn’t mean I’m not accepted (I’m pretty sure the message would have been NO if that were the case).  Hopefully my school gets a letter or somehow I get notified soon … I’m dying a little everyday from the suspense.

UPDATE 11/3: SNU finally responded to my advisor’s email (they have ignored like 3 emails in the past asking whether my application was even recieved).  They said it’s being processed and should be finished by the end of the month, so at least I finally know my application actually made it lol

  1. Well don’t die budddy. Hang in there.

  2. Most Korean websites work with Firefox but at the same time most of them don’t function 100% properly. Sometimes it’s video, sometimes it’s layout. This is one of those uncommon ones that is completely non-functional though.

I think it’s strange how they’re making you log data into a website. KNU and SCH just sent us Emails.

Well, I’m expecting an email (hopefully). If not, a packet will probably be sent or something. I just don’t know what to expect ><. I saw that announcement and assumed I would be able to see the results … but nope!

  4. I am sure you will get in. I am surprised that they work so slow though.

  5. did you apply to other schools as a backup?

  6. @Gomushin Girl
No, if I don’t get in I’ll just continue to work and go to school here. My backup plan for Korea is to just go for fun in the summer or something.

  7. If you happen to not get in, I would say you should apply to another school or two for next fall or the following spring. Don’t let SU be your only door inside!

  8. 화이팅! 행운 빌게요 ㅋㅋㅋ.
