Now if that isn’t the most wholesome thing I’ve seen I don’t know what is.
my korean teacher says “놈” is derogatory, but it doesnt have so strong a connotation as bastard (which confused me, because i always see “나쁜 놈” translated as bastard, but then there was that movie “좋은 놈, 나쁜 놈, 이상한 놈” and that title was harmless enough…) But yeah, its somewhat derogatory but its also something guys say to each other, among friends (the best western equivalent i can thihnk of to this is probably like how girls can call their friends bitch and not mean it in a bad way…?)
놈 is derogatory, but like some other derogatory words in Korean they aren’t always objectionable and the English translation comes out different depending on the context and tone of voice.
