I’ve been in the middle of midterms and midterm projects for the past two weeks and will be for this week >< But yes, I’m still alive. I’ve got two posts from the weekend waiting until I’ve got some time to polish them up and a new post for the North Korean propaganda series. Wednesday is the end of the three weeks of midterms. Yeah.
Don’t forget that it’s North Korea Freedom Week (see schedule here)! There’s plenty of events, go to one that you might be interested in. I went to the gallery called something like “Warm country to the south” and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ll be posting those pics later on.
just out of curiosity: why are you interested in north korea?
@joe
As an American, sometimes I wonder what it would be like if the civil war had never ended. Who knows if the US, or even the world, would be where it is today if it had not resolved the civil war dispute. Families would have been separated, a people who should love each other would be separated, etc. As I’ve learned more and more about ‘Korea’, I’ve tried to understand everything I can about both nations since they are interconnected as a people (albeit with a 60 year gap).
Other than that, the DPRK is an interesting state to study. The propaganda system for example is particularly interesting given how extensively it’s intertwined into everything and has served as a backbone to keep the nation from imploding. Since I can speak Korean, I have a unique opportunity to study into depth on the subject first-hand.
thanks for your response. that’s really great, man. i totally respect that. now get back to studying for your midterms!
