추격자, 살인의 추억. you would not be disappointed.
Wow, so extensive list! I, a native Korean, have not even watched many of them. “A moment to Remember”(내 머리 속의 지우개: available in youtube), “Marathon” (말아톤) are good movies I would recommend.
the most recent “the housewife” 하녀 was riddled with nudity and as such it was unfairly considered pornographic/voyeuristic film.
i found the film to be thought-provoking and visually stunning, though the sex scenes and nudity were quite explicit.
i disagree with the 1 star rating and for anyone considering this movie i recommend checking it out – the final 2 scenes provide a big payoff if most of the movie doesn’t please you as much…

괴물 only got 2 stars? I am disappoint. I give it 3, but more like a 4 or so for entertainment value.
I’ve seen some of the movies on the list you haven’t seen yet and they’re all pretty good. I suggest watching 판문점, Antique, 웰컴 투 동막골, and 효자동 이발사. Antique is the only one without heavy political content.
I have seen JSA, thanks for the reminder. It was a pretty good movie, I’ll probably give it 4 stars. I did also see Welcome to Dongmakgol which was alright but not one of my favs.
True, it was more of a popcorn flick with a hypothetical plot rather than a serious historical production. Two other popcorn flicks I like are 주유소 습격 사건 and 킬러들의 수다. You might check out 김관장 대 김관장 대 김관장 for some mindless laughs from that same goatee lead. I forget his name.
A must-see is 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 그리고 봄 aka “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring” (2003) by Kim Ki-duk.
