There aren’t very many sitcoms in Korea so I’m very excited when I find one. I’m still watching Unstoppable High Kick (unbelievably funny and a must see) on my iPod (at episode 72 out if 166ish … yeah, it’ll take a while). I decided to start watching another sitcom I found a while ago on the computer since I finished watching X-Files. After digging through my collection I decided on watching Hello Franceska (안녕! 프란체스카). After watching 8 episodes I can firmly say this is another most-see incredibly funny sitcom. The best thing is that English subtitles are available. It’s about a whacked-out family of vampires on their way to Japan who accidentally settle in Seoul, Korea. As you can imagine, they and those around them find themselves in very uncomfortable situations. I guess you could think of this as Korea’s The Munsters.
Anyways, head over here to watch the copy with English subtitles! (Here’s another source in case the first goes down)
i enjoyed watching Hello Franceska on arirang tv years back.. it’s really funny…
i don’t know why i lost interest in watching korean shows after settling down here. but since i love period/historical dramas, i always wait for Dong Yi’s English subtitled episodes on http://www.dramacrazy.net...
Thanks for the sitcom tip. I quite liked the sitcom 못 말리는 결혼 http://www.kbs.co.kr/drama/nowedding/index.html (note, there’s a movie of the same name, which I never saw) when it was on a couple years ago, I think I discovered it around episode 15 or 20. Most of the characters were lots of fun and there were some really zany episodes, but it wasn’t very popular with the natives. I stopped watching Korean TV a while later after I couldn’t find anything I liked.
