Captain Obvious quoted in Korea Herald

According to a Korean ministry official:

It appears that as the number of foreigners staying in Korea increases, so do the number of criminal cases

Wow, hello Captain Obvious!

Hears an even bigger shocker … as the number of Koreans increases so do the number of crimes committed by Koreans *gasp*

But seriously, numbers don’t mean a whole lot without percentages. For example, if the number of crimes were increasing but the percentage were decreasing that means they’re probably doing something right.

Back from solo weekend trip

The typhoon has arrived …

Run for the hills!

Or buy an umbrella, whatever works.

EDIT: Seems it was just a spurt. More to come soon probably …

How to not view blocked sites in Korea

I just want to say that I don’t personally condone going to any websites blocked by the Korean government.  It can get frustrating for anyone researching North Korea.

With that in mind, here is a proxy you probably shouldn’t use.  Here is an interesting site which has been talked about lately which you shouldn’t look at and I won’t hyperlink since you shouldn’t be clicking it anyway: http://twitter.com/uriminzok.  For some reason, the YouTube channel isn’t blocked so I guess it’s okay to go there.  There was a lot about it in the news recently.  I’ve got to say though, it’s incredibly boring stuff (from what I hear …).
