Thanks for watching!

Wow, I just checked my channel over on YouTube and it said:

#30 – Most Subscribed (All Time) – Gurus – South Korea
#5 – Most Viewed (Today) – Gurus – South Korea
#20 – Most Viewed (This Week) – Gurus – South Korea
#28 – Most Viewed (This Month) – Gurus – South Korea
#26 – Most Viewed (All Time) – Gurus – South Korea

I never remember seeing any stats like that the last time I checked.  I’m glad everyone is enjoying all the videos I’ve uploaded, I’ll continue to put more up!  I actually just got a bunch of North Korean movies and comedy skits (not about North Korea, but actually from DPRK TV) so I’ll try watching them to see if there’s any interesting parts to upload.

It’s Korean New Year, so go out and have some fun!

Kim Jung-Il’s Comedy Club

Kim Jung-Il’s Comedy Club is an extremely unique look into North Korea.  Most documentaries about North Korea involve just going to the country and documenting what they see around them as they go on a tour.  This is not that kind of documentary.

Two Korean-born Danes, one handicapped (almost unheard of in North Korea), go to North Korea along with a director to do a comedy skit and share their culture.  Only that really isn’t their goal.  Their goal is to show just how ridiculous the North Korean government is.  Watch as they present a pizza shovel as a gift for Kim Jong-Il, interact with people who don’t deal with handicapped people, walk in a huge march and get shown on North Korean TV, perform a skit and get absolutely no laughs from their guides, have their skit totally changed, and more!

UPDATE: Well, the video was removed.

Using string cheese on iPhone or iPod in winter

I heard about the wrapped sausages and found out something which I don’t know if everyone knows … you can use American string cheese on your iPhone/iPod!  I saw that the Korean ‘sausages’ were really just cheese so I tried out the American string cheese I brought with me to Korea.  I may be wrong, but I ‘think’ I’m the first to confirm you can just use string cheese (instead of the Korean variety) on your iPhone instead of your fingers. Enjoy!

My Girlfriend is an Agent (7급 공무원)

I wasn’t expecting very much from “My Girlfriend is an Agent” but I was pleasantly surprised.  It’s a good combination of comedy and action without any sort of love triangle sub-story.  The main guy and women are NIS agents who have to put on a different face when meeting each other both working on the same case but whose teams are oblivious to each other (one being domestic and the other international).  Here’s one scene that really shows what kind of movie this is:

Definitely go check it out, it’s very much worth the time.

Korea tech blogger gives TED talk

I love TED, it’s on my list of favorite things for my iPod.  TED conferences have all sorts of interesting talks which definitely includes fellow blogger Changwon Kim’s talk about technology in Korea.  Here’s the link, go watch it: http://www.web20asia.com/413
