Korean Chatting #2: More emoticons

March 25th, 2009 2 comments

Here is a clip from a great Korean movie (My Sassy Girl / 엽기적인 그녀) which showcases three emoticons used by Koreans that you generally won’t find in America.

^^ is a gleeful face, .\/. is a mad face, and *____* is a smiling face. I’m sure you could already know that by watching the clip, but there’s the definitions anyways.

Is the video broken?  Please comment so I can find a new copy.  Thanks!

This is an excerpt from 거침없이 하이킥 (High Kick). The father of the family gets a text and has to have his son explain what the words mean. This is where I learned about OTL.
