I’ve added a new section to the Korean Wiki Project so that we can learn Korean through media. Rather than just posting lyrics and vocabulary, we’ll use the power of the wiki to connect words and vocabulary forms from the lyrics to the relevant pages. I’ve edited 2NE1′s I Don’t Care lyrics (click to view) so that you can click on grammar forms and some words to read more information on subjects relating to the words. Any thoughts or comments on this new section?

NEW: Hangeul Assistant
Hey all! I have been working really hard with Chris over at the Korean Wiki Project lately, so if you haven’t been over there go and check out what we’ve done so far.
I have been working on a project for the wiki which is very unique,I call it the Hangeul Assistant. It’s primary purpose is to showcase how Korean verbs get modified when various forms are added. If you type a verb, like 하다, it will show you how that verb looks like with a ton of examples (like 합니다). Along with the new forms, it will show you any changes in pronunciation. You can also type individual words or full sentences if you would like to see pronunciation changes with them.
Click here to try it. Make sure to come back and leave your feedback! Please remember it’s in the very early stages, so there are many rules that have not been added yet. If you see any verb forms that aren’t added correctly or pronunciation that isn’t correct please leave a comment.
WiKorea Update: Writing system done
I just want to give a quick update on WiKorea. I’ve set up the structure, added some extensions and have learned how to edit pages. MediaWiki is really fun to use, I would highly suggest learning how to edit a wiki (whether it be mine or another).
I have set up some areas that seem logical to include in the main page on the wiki and have completed editing the writing section. There’s some resources for learning Hangul, viewing or typing in Korean (whether you have it installed or not!), using subtitles (downloading and viewing), etc. This section really doesn’t lend itself to be developed again, there are lots of other resources available so this section is pretty much just useful links to other sites that provide good content. Maybe in the future it can be developed in the Wiki but I really want to focus on getting the other sections up and running first. Here are links to the respective pages:
Writing System
- Alphabet (Hangul)
- Reading, typing and other computer resources
- Romanization (writing Korean in English)
The grammar section also includes some abbreviations so that any grammar rules can use the same abbreviations for consistency.
